Polymorphonuclear Neutrophils in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: More Complicated Than Anticipated

چکیده

Polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) are the most abundant leucocytes in circulation humans. They represent a heterogeneous population exerting diverse functions through several activities. Usually described as typical pro-inflammatory cells, immunomodulatory properties of PMNs have been reported. Among others, once activated and depending on stimulus, expel neutrophil extracellular traps (NET) space. NETs complexes made DNA granule proteins representing an innate immune mechanism fighting infections. Nevertheless, excess NET formation might be involved development inflammatory or autoimmune responses. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) rheumatoid arthritis (RA) two chronic, inflammatory, diseases unknown etiology affecting mostly women. Several abnormal non-classical PMN sub-populations SLE RA. Particularly, suggested to trigger responses by exposing mediators. Likewise, may targets autoantibodies even autoantigens. In present review, we will summarize human discuss recent evidence linking pathogenesis both

Anticardiolipin Antibodies in Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Background: Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) can either occur as a primary syndrome or associated with other autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Anticardiolipin antibody (aCL) of IgG and/or IgM isotype in blood, measured by a standardized ELISA is the most acceptable laboratory criteria. APS IgG isotype, particularly IgG2 subclass is more strongly associated ...

Frequency of neoplasia in systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

A patient population admitted to the hospital for either SLE or RA was surveyed for the subsequent development of neoplasms. The frequency of neoplasm in SLE patients appeared to be exaggerated, whereas the frequency of subsequent neoplasm in rheumatoid patients was unexpectedly low. A paucity of nephritis in the SLE group was noted. Further reports are encouraged so that the magnitude of the r...
